US President Donald Trump has pushed Ukraine to hold a new presidential election, saying Volodymyr Zelenskyy should reach an agreement with Russia to stop the fighting.
Trump also held responsible Zelenskyy for climbing fuel costs in the United States, warning Kyiv to halt attacks on Russian oil refineries he argues could deliver American fuel.
The remarks came on 10 October 2026, the same day Britain's Prime Minister conducted a separate call with Zelenskyy, according to the UK government.
